For infants, the session begins when the parents complete a three-day food record, which is sent out ahead of the visit or downloaded from this website. Parents are instructed to bring detailed height and weight data from birth to 36 months, obtained from the pediatrician. Common problems in this age group include inadequate nutritional intake resulting in poor weight and length gains or failure to achieve developmental feeding skills. Behavioral feeding problems are also common, including food refusals, excessive milk or formula intake or inadequate protein intake. For this age group parents are not required to bring their infant to the session. Sessions are usually conducted with at least one parent in the office or by phone.
