One-On-One Nutrition Counseling

Debra Diet Works-stationaryRegistered Dietitians deliver “Medical Nutrition Therapy” or MNT, which has as its foundation scientifically published studies instead of theories or anecdotal evidence. The government, health care groups and private insurers now recognize the benefits of MNT as a first line intervention to improve health for many disease states. Registered Dietitians are considered “Specialist Providers” in most major insurance plans. The number of MNT counseling sessions allowed varies among insurance carriers with a minimum of an initial visit and at least two follow up sessions in the first year.  Clients with the following nutrition problems or disease states often benefit most from this type of hands on counseling as their cases are often complicated and necessitate a more detailed approach:

  • Gastrointestinal Problems: Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Chron’s or Irritable Bowel Disease (Colitis), Esophageal Reflux, Lactose Intolerance, Food Allergies or Intolerances, Celiac Sprue, or Leaky Gut Syndrome (Psorasis).
  • Women’s Diseases:  Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome, Post-Menopausal Weight Gain, Heart Disease, Osteoporosis or Osteopenia, Cancer Prevention Diets.
  • Men’s Issues:  Low T, Prostate Cancer Prevention, Weight Gain or Loss, Heart Disease.
  • Immunological Diseases Requiring Nutrition Fortification and Support
